這篇文章半個月前就寫好了。本來還想加些分析感覺之類的,可思緒總是難以組織。那就算了吧。
七月中去了港大某舍堂的experience camp。活動本身無甚可記,所以只談其間一件小事。
事情是這樣的:我們吃過宵夜回宿,已是深夜一點多。洗過澡,就在房間裏聊。同行友人對棍網球(lacrosse)相當感興趣。一位熱心的師兄/現宿生/工作人員即席示範,地點「自然」是各房之間的走廊。拋傳幾輪之後,球撞到了一道門。門打開,裏面有一個的陌生面孔,坐在書桌側邊。
「I'm reli sorry...」師兄道歉。
「你們在搞甚麼?」那人帶點憤怒,用普通話問。「都兩點多了,你們在corridor玩lacrosse,是甚麼意思?要玩就下去玩啊!」
(半鹹淡的普通話,帶半點敷衍)「真的很對不起呀……」
「你是甚麼意思?」我們再說了幾聲對不起,就回了房間。
同行友人:「頭先嗰個係咩人黎架?」
「無咩,一個Mainland啫。我地平時都好少理佢。」
「即係佢係啲的俾你地杯葛嗰啲嚟架?」
「佢都唔參加我地啲野架啦。我地全hall一百一十九個人都一齊玩,係無佢。」
我:「但頭先都唔覺佢有咩大問題喎。」
「佢係Mainland學生協會d大粒黎架,平時有幾個大陸人跟出跟入,所以先會咁。」(半開玩笑地)「我同你講,佢下年唔知旨意住係度。」「一係我地上我嗰層玩啦,我嗰層無啲咁既麻煩人。」[是事發半天後才記下來的對話,或許會有少許出入。但大意應該如是。]

You won't understand how horrible some Mainland students are before you experience life in HKU truly.
it's about mutual respect
it might be an obligation for hall occupants to participate in hall activities but it sounds rather irrational to play lacrosse in the corridor at 1am
That's why I don't wanna live in halls. I don't want to have the obligation to 'play' which includes playing lacross in the corridor in the middle of the night.
Playing lacrosse in the corridor at 1 pm can't wake me up XD
@kwyeung - Some but not all. And I bet there are similar Hongkongers too. Anyway, I shall experience by myself very soon. lol
@InquisitorGeneralis - It is indeed irrational - I think they wont' normally. The whole thing occurs only because a current student just can't wait to show his lacrosse skills to participants.
@yuchungman - It might be a obligation to play a sport, but from what I hear, not in midnight...
@chrisintheclouds - you must have just started sleeping then! lol
